Latest Updates on AXELOS Cyber Resilience – Are You in the Loop?

AXELOS®, the owners of the ITIL®, PRINCE2® and other methodologies within the Global Best Practice portfolio, has announced that the following examination institutes (EIs) have been selected to deliver the new AXELOS Cyber Resilience exams:

APMG
BCS
CSME
PEOPLECERT

AXELOS has committed to work collaboratively with the EIs to “grow established markets and develop opportunities in new regions to fulfil the need of building a cyber smart workforce and supply chain to mitigate risks”.

As part of its Cyber Resilience portfolio, AXELOS is not only developing training and awareness products, it is also developing a Cyber Resilience ‘Management Pathway Tool’. This tool will provide a simple, effective and repeatable assessment for organisations to develop a target cyber resilience posture based on international best practice and guidance.

While AXELOS Cyber Resilience will be based on the ITIL service management lifecycle in principle, the guidance has been designed so that it can be easily adopted by organisations not familiar with ITIL or service management. Additionally, the Cyber Resilience qualifications are being designed to appeal to the entire organisation, and not just those involved in service management or ITIL.

AXELOS’s Cyber Resilience qualifications will form part of the new continuing professional development (CPD) scheme that they have been developing. With the constantly fluid nature of the cyber security landscape, it will be essential for professionals to stay current and up to date, which is the aim of the AXELOS CPD scheme through access to a range of content, courses and products.

AXELOS Cyber Resilience will launch in Q2 2015, with pilot courses taking place during April or May 2015.

IT Governance has taken a keen interest in the AXELOS Cyber Resilience portfolio’s development. We see its development as further recognition that organisations need to take cyber security seriously. Over the coming months, we will be looking to work with AXELOS to promote this new source of best-practice guidance and training.
